In search of a thesis
I'm getting ready for my upcoming orientation seminar at Reformed Theological Seminary and one of the things I have to do is come up with a thesis idea. I'm thinking either something Old Testament-related or church history-related. Here's a sample of my high-level brainstorming.
- Why did God choose Abraham?
- Why did God choose Noah?
- Scriptorium of Eusebius
- Application of technology in teaching and study of theology, bible or Biblical Languages
- Ezra the scribe

I have a book entitled "Church History in Plain Language" that I got from a friend who was a missionary major at North Central University. I haven't read it *yet*, but it's supposed to be very good. It might have a few good ideas in it.
I also have "In the Begining: The Story of the King James Bible and how it changed a Nation, a Language, and a Culture". I bought it in London. It was written by Alister McGrath who is Professor of Historical Theology at the University of Oxford. This is a very interesting book. Again, it may be a source of some ideas for you. Let me know if you're interested!
I've heard that "Writing Your Dissertation in Fifteen Minutes a Day: A Guide to Starting, Revising, and Finishing Your Doctoral Thesis" is good for working through the process once you have an idea (I know, jumping the gun - just trying to help!)
Peter & Sarah,
Thanks for the suggestions. I requested Writing Your Dissertation in Fifteen Minutes a Day from the library. I may be leaning more towards a topic out of church history, but it's to early to tell. : ) God bless!
