Thinking about overhauling the site...
I've been thinking about taking up a redesign project for my site in the coming months. One of the things I'm kicking around is moving over to wordpress. I noticed that they have a conversion tool for blogs that have resided on blogger. They seem to have more robust templates as well. Can any of you offer any words of wisdom on using wordpress and how painful or painless their conversion process is. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I made the move to Wordpress back in May of '07 and it was painless. There was a time when I wavered between the two though. All in all WP is the better of the bunch. Sure, blogspot gives you better widgets, but from what I can of your blog, you aren't really a widget nut. I think WP is better because of the search feature, the interconnectedness of WP blogs (pingbacks, allowing you to keep up with comment threads from other blogs without having to leave your own, etc.), and also they're more aesthetically appealing. Not to mention that commenting on WP blogs is so much easier than on blogspot blogs as I'm sure you are well aware. You'd think we were getting government secrets with all the hopps they make us jump through to leave a comment over here. ;-) I say make the move, and make it today!
I woiuld encourage you to stay with blogger. You have way more html/css/javascript capabilities. If you don't know what that means, it means that you can bascially make your site look any way you want it to, something you can't do with wordpress. I worked with wordpress for a little bit while I was working with blogger. I know WP seems hot right now but honestly, it's not nearly as diverse/dynamic as blogger. I would encourage you to stay with blogger; it certainly enables you to do more--practically whatever you want!!!
let me know what you find out or decide! I've been mostly happy with blogger, but there have been a few quirks that have bugged me (like I can't get "comment now" to actually show up on my front page, only the post's page. And that I can't use the "nice" templates with RSS feeds in the side bar for a site that's published onto an ftp site... read: can't use my own domain)
